The MSI PRO B860-VC WIFI platform launched with firmware v1A10, establishing the initial baseline for Intel Core Ultra 200S processors. Update v1A20 integrates Microcode 0x114, a critical patch that corrects Processor Power Management (PPM) logic to mitigate frame-time spikes and latency issues in gaming workloads, while also adding support for Intel Planned Release 4 (PR4). System coordination is further refined in v1A30, which updates the Management Engine (ME) firmware to version 19.0.0.1854 and aligns the BIOS with Intel Planned Release 5 (PR5). This version optimizes the handshake between the firmware and Intel Application Optimization (APO) and Dynamic Tuning Technology (DTT) drivers.

Feature Maturity & Hardware Support

Memory density support is significantly expanded in v1A32, enabling stability for single-module 64GB configurations. This capability is scaled in v1A40 to support fully populated 4x 64GB DIMM banks, allowing for a total system memory of 256GB. Version v1A40 also incorporates Microcode 0x116, which improves reliability and voltage regulation specifically for non-K (65W) Core Ultra SKUs. Subsequent updates v1A42 and v1A50 introduce and finalize support for Intel Maintenance Release 1 (MR1), update the ESA module, and resolve specific post-initialization audio beep codes.

Critical Security & Power Management

Firmware v1A60 implements Intel Maintenance Release 3 (MR3), which stabilizes the platform for Ultra Turbo Mode and Intel 200S Boost performance profiles. This release also updates the Graphics Output Protocol (GOP) to resolve display setting conflicts. Visual output handling is further refined in v1A70, which improves MultiMonitor support, modifies security settings, and applies a general microcode update. The roadmap concludes with v1A80, which modifies memory overclocking rules to enhance compatibility with high-speed modules.
