Launch Stability & Compatibility

Following the platform launch in v10, early firmware development focused on storage and memory subsystem maturity. Version v13 introduced native support for the exFAT file system, while v16 integrated the MSI Driver Utility Installer and refined SATA device compatibility. Memory architecture saw significant expansion in v1B1[Beta], which enabled support for up to 256GB of DDR5 memory, alongside improvements to "Memory Try It!" auto-rules introduced in v16. Additionally, v1G addressed non-volatile memory behavior by fixing DMI UUID loss occurrences after clearing CMOS.

Feature Maturity & Hardware Support

Support for 14th Gen processors was established in v18, which also resolved "UNSUPPORTED PROCESSOR" BSOD scenarios. Optimization for this architecture continued in v19 and v1B, enabling Intel Application Optimization (APO) for 12th and 13th Gen SKUs. Version v1B3[Beta] and v1B integrated Microcode 0x123, which disables CEP (Current Excursion Protection) on B0 stepping CPUs to optimize performance curves. To address baseline stability standards, v1C2[Beta] implemented Intel Default Settings, replacing vendor-specific power profiles with Intel's reference specifications for power delivery.

Critical Security & Power Management

A series of critical microcode updates addressed Vmin Shift Instability and thermal management. Version v1C integrated Microcode 0x125 to patch eTVB algorithms and resolved security vulnerability CVE-2024-36877. Subsequent updates v1D and v1E deployed Microcode 0x129 (1.55V voltage clamp) and Microcode 0x12B (idle voltage root cause fix) respectively to mitigate physical degradation risks. Advanced mitigation continued in v1F1[Beta] and v1H1[Beta] with Microcode 0x12F. Final maintenance in v1H updated the ME Firmware to v16.1.38.2676 and corrected fan setting retention failures upon exiting the BIOS without saving.
