Initial firmware releases focused on stabilizing the AM4 platform and optimizing Ryzen 3000 series performance. Update vA2 integrates AGESA ComboPI 1.0.0.3abba to resolve core frequency boosting issues, ensuring processors reach advertised single-core turbo speeds. System boot times and NVMe device compatibility were optimized in vA3 via AGESA 1.0.0.4 Patch B. Legacy hardware stability was addressed in vA6 and vA7 (AGESA 1.0.0.6), which resolve specific HDMI audio signal loss when using AMD RX570 graphics cards.

Feature Maturity & Hardware Support

Mid-cycle updates expanded processor support and introduced critical performance features. Version vAC updates to AGESA 1.2.0.0, enabling Resizable BAR for compatible NVIDIA GPUs and officially supporting Ryzen 5000 series processors. Intermittent USB device connectivity dropouts are mitigated in vAD (AGESA 1.2.0.2). Support for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is formalized in vAF (AGESA 1.2.0.6c), while vAH1[Beta] updates to AGESA 1.2.0.7 to resolve Windows fTPM Stuttering latency issues and changes the default Secure Boot configuration.

Recent firmware prioritizes hardening the platform against high-severity vulnerabilities. Update vAK integrates AGESA 1.2.0.B to mitigate the Inception side-channel exploit. Version vAL (AGESA 1.2.0.Ca) addresses the LogoFAIL image parsing vulnerability and CVE-2024-36877. The critical Sinkclose SMM lock bypass is patched in vAM2[Beta] (AGESA 1.2.0.Cc). Finally, vAN (AGESA 1.2.0.F) updates fTPM firmware to improve anti-cheat compatibility and resolves a bug where fan settings would revert after exiting the BIOS without saving.
