The firmware lifecycle begins with v20, establishing the baseline for the B450 platform. Update v21 integrates AGESA 1.0.0.4C to stabilize memory training, while v23 updates the codebase to AGESA 1.0.0.6, finalizing support for Summit Ridge and Pinnacle Ridge architectures and enabling SATA hotplug functionality. Significant architectural changes arrive in v28, which introduces Ryzen 3000 series support via ComboPI 1.0.0.3ab. Due to ROM size limitations required for the expanded CPU support, v28 also transitions the user interface to the GSE-Lite Click BIOS mode.

Feature Maturity & Hardware Support

Post-launch optimization for Ryzen 3000 processors is addressed in v2B, which implements AGESA 1.0.0.3abba to resolve core boost frequency deficits. System initialization speed and PCIe device interoperability are improved in v2C with the deployment of ComboPI 1.0.0.4 Patch B. A critical stability update occurs in v2I, which upgrades the platform to AGESA 1.2.0.7; this version resolves fTPM Stuttering latency issues affecting Windows environments and enables Secure Boot by default. To accommodate these newer protocols, v2I also deprecates support for legacy Bristol Ridge APUs.

Critical Security & Power Management

Recent updates focus on mitigating high-severity vulnerabilities through the Beta channel. Version v2J1[Beta] introduces AGESA 1.2.0.A to address TPM out-of-bounds access risks. Update v2J3[Beta] integrates AGESA 1.2.0.Ca, which patches the LogoFAIL image parsing exploit and resolves CVE-2024-36877. The subsequent release, v2J4[Beta], applies AGESA 1.2.0.Cc to mitigate the Sinkclose SMM lock bypass vulnerability. Finally, v2J6[Beta] updates the codebase to AGESA 1.2.0.F, refining fTPM firmware to ensure compatibility with modern anti-cheat systems and Windows 11 requirements.
