The B860 platform launched on v5 utilizing Microcode 0x114 to resolve critical Processor Power Management (PPM) logic issues and mitigate frame-time spikes in gaming workloads. Version v6c[Beta] introduced AORUS AI SNATCH for AI-driven XMP boosting and enabled user-selectable microcode switching between 0x113, which optimizes Energy Performance Preference (EPP) grouping, and 0x114. Following this, v6 integrated Intel MR1 ingredients and Microcode 0x117, enhancing signal integrity for high-speed CUDIMM memory and optimizing DLRM power states for improved storage efficiency.

Feature Maturity & Hardware Support

Firmware v7d deployed Microcode 0x118 (MR3) to stabilize the platform for Ultra Turbo Mode and Intel 200S Boost performance profiles. Support for specialized hardware expanded in v7f with compatibility for V-Color OLED memory modules. The official v7 release finalized these features, adding support for V-COLOR XFinity+ modules and the AI TOP Utility v4.1.1, while ensuring robust memory training for high-performance configurations.

Critical Security & Power Management

System security was significantly hardened in v7 by enabling Pre-boot DMA Protection, VT-d, and IOMMU by default to prevent direct memory access attacks. The latest update, v9, integrates Microcode 0x11B to enable official support for Core Ultra 2-series refresh processors and finalizes 200S Boost profiles. Additionally, v9 enforces Secure Boot as the system default to prevent unauthorized bootloaders and updates the CSME to v19.0.5.2018v2.2 for enhanced management engine stability.
