The B760 platform launch established baseline functionality with vF1, followed quickly by vF2 which resolved blank display initialization failures on RTX3060 series graphics cards and integrated Gigabyte PerfDrive. Update vF3 addressed firmware vulnerabilities reported by Eclypsium Research and introduced a user-selectable option for Microcode 0x104. This legacy microcode support allows K-sku users to bypass newer voltage restrictions and apply negative Adaptive Vcore offsets to reduce thermal output, though it reintroduces older security risks. Memory compliance was strengthened in vF5, which enabled SPD write protection to fix JEDEC compatibility issues with specific DDR4 modules.

Feature Maturity & Hardware Support

Mid-cycle updates focused on interface modernization and expanded processor support. Version vF6 updated the UEFI interface and integrated Microcode 0x11D. Critical security hardening arrived in vF8, which mitigated the LogoFAIL vulnerability and added toggle options for the Gaussian & Neural Accelerator (GNA). Version vF9 optimized Current Excursion Protection (CEP) power settings and enabled support for the Intel Core i9-14900KS. This version also updated the Intel Application Optimization (APO) DTT framework to v9.0.11405.42569, enhancing thread scheduling for supported processors.

Critical Security & Power Management

Recent firmware prioritizes processor longevity and platform hardening. Version vF11 implemented Intel Default Settings and integrated Microcode 0x12B, serving as the root cause fix for Vmin Shift Instability by addressing elevated voltage requests during idle states (superseding 0x125 and 0x129). Following the intermediate vF13a and vF13c updates, the official vF13 release deployed Microcode 0x12F for advanced Vmin Shift Instability mitigation and Microcode 0x3a to resolve multiple security advisories, including INTEL-SA-01153. Version vF14 further secured the pre-boot environment by enabling DMA Protection, VT-d, and IOMMU by default, while updating the CSME to v16.1.38.2676. Finally, vF15 enforced Secure Boot as the system default.
