The firmware lifecycle began with v3.03, establishing initial platform stability for 12th Gen processors. Early updates v4.02 and v5.02 focus on stabilizing DDR5 memory training and compatibility. Version 6.02 integrates support for Intel XMP 3.0 specifications to enhance memory overclocking profiles. Specific optimization for the i9-12900KS is introduced in v8.03, which also adds options to load Intel Base Power Limit settings. Connectivity fixes arrive in v9.01 to resolve WiFi module detection issues, while v10.02 updates the ASRock Network module and Intel XTU function support. The architecture is expanded to support Intel 13th Gen processors starting with v13.03.

Feature Maturity & Hardware Support

Mid-cycle updates prioritize hardware interoperability and security hardening. Version 15.04 resolves detection and stability conflicts with GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs while updating the Management Engine (ME). To align with thermal specifications, v20.05[Beta] implements Intel Default Settings for K-series SKUs. The mitigation sequence begins with v20.07[Beta], which updates to Microcode 0x125 to correct the eTVB algorithm. This is followed by v20.08, integrating Microcode 0x129 to enforce a 1.55V voltage clamp. Version 21.01 updates to Microcode 0x12B to address the root cause of Vmin Shift Instability by preventing elevated voltage requests during idle states. Finally, v21.04 deploys Microcode 0x12F to provide advanced mitigation against edge-case voltage drifts and long-term degradation.
